A general-purpose MEKP that provides an exceptionally long gel time in standard phthalate resins, making it the product of choice for curing vinyl ester resins. It includes a disappearing red indicator system.
Applications
Butanox® LPT-IN VRN is a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and high temperatures in the presence of a cobalt accelerator. Compared to most other peroxymethyl ethyl ketones, Butanox® LPT-IN VRN has a significantly longer gel time, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring extended gel times or production cycles, such as the manufacture of large parts and fiber winding. Butanox® LPT-IN VRN includes a disappearing red indicator system that virtually vanishes during the curing process. The red color appears during the mixing step when you need it, but disappears as curing proceeds.
