appliance
Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6 is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of cobalt accelerators at room and elevated temperatures. Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6 offers all the advantages of the standard MEKP, Butanox® M-50. Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6 contains a red color indication system which in most cases virtually disappears during the curing process. The red color appears during the mixing step just when you need it, but disappears during the curing process. The curing system Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6/Cobalt accelerator is particularly suitable for curing gelcoat resins, laminating resins, varnishes and castings; furthermore, in contrast to the curing system benzoyl peroxide/amine accelerator, it is possible to manufacture light-resistant parts. Years of practical experience have proven that Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6 guarantees a low water content and the absence of polar compounds, and that this peroxide is ideally suited for use in GRP products, e.g. for marine applications. For room temperature applications, Butanox® M-50 RED YM 1:6 and a cobalt accelerator (e.g. Accelerator NL-49P) must be used.
