Butanox® M-50 is a general-purpose MEKP with moderate reactivity and low moisture content.
Applications
Butanox® M-50 is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and high temperatures in the presence of cobalt accelerators. The Butanox® M-50/cobalt accelerator curing system is particularly suitable for curing gel coat resins, laminating resins, clear coats, and castings; furthermore, unlike curing systems using benzoyl peroxide/amine accelerators, it enables the production of light-resistant components. Years of practical experience have demonstrated that, thanks to its low moisture content and absence of polar compounds, Butanox® M-50 is ideally suited for use in GRP products, such as marine applications.
