Butanox® HBO-50 is a fast-geling MEKP.
Applications
Butanox® HBO-50 is a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and elevated temperatures in the presence of cobalt accelerators. The Butanox® HBO-50/cobalt accelerator curing system is particularly suitable for curing laminating resins and paints that require faster gelation and initial cure rates than those achieved with Butanox® M-50. Furthermore, unlike curing systems using benzoyl peroxide/amine accelerators, it enables the production of light-stable components.
