Palapreg® P 133-952, a high-gloss SMC/BMC compression-molding resin, is a maleic anhydride-type unsaturated polyester resin. Products made from this resin exhibit excellent surface finish and are primarily used in applications requiring high surface quality and gloss, while also offering good water resistance and weather resistance.Examples include bathroom fixtures, automotive panels, and medical devices.

Typical Applications

Curing conditions: Add 1.0 g of Butanox M50 curing agent and 1.0 g of NL 49P accelerator to 100 g of resin. Cure at room temperature for 24 hours, followed by post-curing at 80°C for 24 hours.

Palapreg® P 133-952 is typically used in combination with low-shrinkage additives such as H 892-02 to produce low-profile or Class A surface products.Depending on the dimensional requirements of the final product, 300–600 ppm of p-benzoquinone may be added to the formulation (calculated based on the total weight of resin and low-shrinkage additives).
