Palapreg® H 852-03 is a modified saturated polyester solution dissolved in styrene.

For example, the combination of Palapreg® P18-03 and Palapreg® H852-03 is recommended for the production of low relief SMC/BMC parts with high surface quality (class A). The formulation can be easily thickened with magnesium oxide. Due to its excellent flowability in SMC, Palapreg® H 852-03 is well suited for low pressure applications.

The use of aluminum hydroxide as a filler makes it possible to produce molded products with high flame retardancy.

Processing:

Palapreg® H852-03 is processed into low profile SMC (LP-SMC) and BMC with Palapreg® P18-03.Generally, the ratio of Palapreg® P 18-03/H 852-03 is 50:50, but this can be adjusted if necessary.The relatively low viscosity of Palapreg® H 852-03 permits the use of large amounts of filler. Depending on the size of the molded part, it is recommended that 300 to 600 ppm p-phenylenedione be added to the system (based on UP resin plus thermoplastic solution).
