United Initiators NOROX®MEKP-925H Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide 1338-23-4

Product Description:

  • Product Name: NOROX® MEKP-925H
  • Chemical composition: methyl ethyl ketone peroxide
  • Physical state: liquid mixture
  • Product Characteristics: Formulated specifically to reduce gas generation for critical corrosion prevention applications of vinyl acid resins such as gelatin coatings, barrier coatings and corrosion resistant structures. Low hydroperoxide levels often require modification of the resin promotion system to obtain reasonable gel times.

Technical data:

  • Active oxygen content: not more than 9.0%
  • Form: Liquid
  • Color: colorless and transparent
  • Specific gravity (25°C): 1.10
  • Flash point (C.O.C.): not less than 200°F
  • Flash point (SETA C.C.): not less than 170°F
  • Soluble in: Oxygenated organic solvents
  • Slightly soluble in: water
  • Spontaneous decomposition temperature (SADT): less than 140°F (60°C)
  • Storage temperature: no higher than 80°F (27°C)
  • Maximum transportation temperature: not more than 80°F (27°C)
  • 27°C shelf life: 8 months from date of delivery

Applications: NOROX® MEKP-925H is an excellent cure initiator for unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl acid resins. For most unsaturated polyester resins, it provides longer gel and gel-to-cure times, but produces higher peak exotherms in thicker sections. For most vinyl acid resins, NOROX® MEKP-925H provides the most complete cure of all currently available MEK peroxides.
