Butanox® M-50 VRL is a highly reactive, general-purpose MEKP with low moisture content that includes a “Vanishing Red” (VR) indicator system.
Applications
Butanox® M-50 VRL is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and elevated temperatures in the presence of cobalt accelerators. Butanox® M-50 VRL offers all the standard benefits of MEKP, similar to Butanox® M-50, and features a red-disappearing indicator system that fades during curing. The red color appears when needed during mixing and application but disappears during the curing process. The Butanox® M-50 VRL curing system with cobalt accelerators is particularly suitable for curing laminating resins, clear coats, and castings; furthermore, unlike curing systems using benzoyl peroxide/amide accelerators, it enables the production of non-yellowing parts. Years of practical experience have demonstrated that, due to its low moisture content and absence of polar compounds, Butanox® M-50 VRL is ideally suited for GRP products used in marine applications.
