When used to crosslink ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymers, Luperox® TBEC polymer initiator offers good thermal stability, crosslinking efficiency and short cure times. Luperox® TBEC can also be used for food contact styrene polymerization because it produces non-aromatic fragments upon decomposition.
Luperox® JWEB50 polymer initiator is a multifunctional initiator designed to provide higher molecular weight polystyrene resins or to increase overall polymer yield over a given time period. The multifunctional structure of Luperox® JWEB50 promotes long chain branching, which is difficult to achieve with traditional bifunctional initiators.
Luperox® DTA polymer initiators are used for the high temperature polymerization of solvent-borne acrylic resins for coatings, primarily in the automotive or industrial markets. The tertiary amyl peroxide produces acrylic resins with good polydispersity and low solution viscosity because the free radicals produced are more selective. This reduces hydrogen seizure (cross-linking) of the polymeric substances.
Luperox® TAH polymeric initiator is available as an aqueous and organic solvent solution of 75% or 85% active weight. Luperox® TAH has the highest reactive oxygen content of any tertiary amyl initiator and is water soluble, making it ideal for aqueous acrylic synthesis. The tert-amyl radical is also very effective, providing improved monomer conversion and narrower polydispersity.
Luperox® LP Lauroyl peroxide is one of two environmentally controlled temperature peroxides with a very fast half-life marketed worldwide by Arkema (the other is Luperox® A75 benzoyl peroxide powder). Dilauroyl peroxide can be used for PVC production in suspension or micro-suspension processes. While it is permissible to ship Luperox® LP Dilauroyl Peroxide at ambient temperature, storage at 40°F is recommended to maintain quality.
Luperox® SAP Polymer Initiator is a peroxydisuccinic acid used in polymer synthesis applications. The product aspect is a frozen solid with a typical purity of 58-72% by weight, with the remainder in water.
Luperox® TAEC polymer initiator is a tertiary amyl initiator for the synthesis of expandable polystyrene. The non-aromatic chemistry makes it a good alternative to tert.Butylperoxybenzoate in food contact applications. Luperox® TAEC also produces a very effective free radical that improves monomer conversion, reduces residual styrene and improves grafting efficiency.
Luperox® DI Polymer Initiator is a room temperature stable peroxide available pure or diluted in mineral spirits. Pure material with antistatic additives is available in Europe. Common applications include polymerization of ethylene or acrylic polymers at elevated temperatures. Luperox® DI has also been shown to act as a cetane booster in diesel fuels.
Luperox® TBICM75 polymer initiator is especially suited for curing conventional or hybrid composite resins with high vinyl acetate or styrene content. Luperox® TBICM75 can be used to increase cycle times or reduce any unreacted resin in the finished product.
