Trigonox® 423-W50 is an initiator for the (co)polymerization of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride.
Applications
Vinyl chloride polymerization: Trigonox® 423-W50 is a highly active initiator used for the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride within a temperature range of 40°C to 65°C. Trigonox® 423-W50 is typically used in combination with less reactive initiators, such as peroxydicarbonates (e.g., Perkadox 16) or diacyl peroxides (e.g., Laurox), to improve reactor efficiency. The reasons for using water-based peroxide emulsions instead of solvent-based peroxides are as follows: improved safety, ease of use in “closed reactor technology” (pumpable), and ease of dilution with water.
