Inhibitor NLC-10 is an inhibitor designed for use at ambient temperatures.
Applications
Inhibitor NLC-10 is a 10% solution of 4-tert-butyl-1,2-dihydroxybenzene (4-tert-butylcatechol) in aliphatic esters. Inhibitor NLC-10 is used at ambient temperature to extend: 1) the gel time of UP resin/peroxide/accelerator mixtures; 2) the pot life of unsaturated polyester resin/peroxide mixtures; 3) the pot life of unsaturated polyester resin/amine accelerator mixtures. The use of inhibitor NLC-10 to extend the shelf life of SMC or BMC formulations is not recommended. For this application, the use of specialized peroxides, such as Trigonox 21LS, is recommended to extend the shelf life.
