Product Description:
- Norox® Pulcat AW is a peroxide solution for pultrusion processes, suitable for curing unsaturated and vinyl esters.
- It can also be used with room-temperature-curing resins that utilize cobalt salts as accelerators.
Typical Properties:
- Active oxygen content ranges from 8.7% to 9.0%.
- Appearance: colorless liquid.
- Specific gravity at 25°C is 1.0.
- Viscosity at 25°C is 14.5 cps.
- Flash point: 60°C.
- It is insoluble in water but soluble in phthalates.
Applications:
- Norox® Pulcat AW exhibits high reactivity in the temperature range of 60°C to 150°C.
- The recommended starting formulation contains 1.5% Norox Pulcat AW and 1% Norox® TBPB.
- Suitable for products requiring color retention to avoid discoloration caused by cobalt salt accelerators.
Storage:
- The recommended storage temperature is 80°F or lower.
- Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, sources of ignition, and flammable materials.
- Spills from storage containers must be cleaned up immediately.
Safety Precautions:
- In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
- In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
- If swallowed, drink plenty of milk or water and seek medical attention immediately.
- Spills should be absorbed immediately and disposed of in accordance with regulations.
Fire:
- Peroxides may accelerate combustion once ignited; use a water mist nozzle to extinguish the fire.
- For small fires, use carbon dioxide, foam, or dry chemical extinguishers.
