- TAPEHC is a colorless liquid whose main component is technically pure tert-amylperoxy-(2-ethylhexyl) carbonate.
- It is a thermally stable monoperoxide used as an initiator (radical source) in the curing of polymers (SM) and unsaturated polyester resins (UP), as well as in the cross-linking of polymers (EVA).
- Appearance: Colorless
- Peroxide Content: approx. 98% w/w
- Active oxygen: approx. 6.14% w/w
- No demineralizer
- Density (20°C): approx. 0.92 g/cm³
- Hazen: up to 30 Hz
- Viscosity at 20°C: approx. 6.6 mPa·s
- Critical temperature (SADT): > 50°C
- Refrigerated stability: Liquid stored at temperatures below -30°C
- Recommended storage temperature: below 25°C
- Storage stability (concentration) after delivery date: 6 months
- This product complies with ElektroG (EU Directives: RoHS 2002/95/EG, WEEE 2002/96/EG)
- Half-life: 10 hours/1 hour/1 minute (0.1 M in isododecane): 95/113/150°C
- STYRENE: Used as an initiator for bulk or suspension polymerization of styrene (SM). Typically used in combination with dibenzoyl peroxide (BPO) for suspension polymerization or with tert-butylperoxy-2-ethylhexanoate (TBPEH) for bulk polymerization.
- Temperature Range: 100–140°C.
- Usage Level: 0.02–0.1% of the supply. Advantages: Significantly reduces the residual monomer content in the polymer; no aromatic decomposition products.
