Palatal® XF 9012 is a halogen-free flame-retardant resin with low viscosity and high reactivity.
Typical Applications
Palatal® XF 9012 is a resin specifically designed for the pultrusion process. While the resin itself is not flame-retardant, its low viscosity allows for the incorporation of a high amount of aluminum hydroxide, making it suitable for various applications requiring flame retardancy and low smoke toxicity.
Palatal® XF 9012 is suitable for producing pultruded products of various sizes; however, due to the high aluminum hydroxide content in the formulation, care must be taken to adjust the amount of reinforcing material. Palatal® XF 9012 has very high reactivity and can maintain a fast pultrusion speed even when a large amount of aluminum hydroxide is added to the formulation. Palatal® XF 9012 can be used in a variety of molding processes, including pultrusion, hand lay-up, and cast grating.

Curing conditions:
Add 1.0 g of Butanox M50 curing agent and 1.0 g of NL 49P accelerator to 100 g of resin.Cure at room temperature for 24 hours, followed by post-curing at 80°C for 24 hours. HDT specimens were post-cured for an additional 2 hours
at 100°C. Test conditions: Temperature 23±2°C, relative humidity 50±5%
Processing Guidelines
- Palatal® XF 9012 resin does not contain a catalyst; a cobalt-based catalyst must be added for room-temperature curing;
- When used in the pultrusion process, the curing system should be selected based on specific factors such as equipment, product, process temperature, and pultrusion speed. The recommended curing agent dosage is between 0.75% and 2.0% of the total resin weight;
- Workshop temperature should be maintained between 18°C and 32°C, and workshop humidity should be maintained between 40% and 90%. Maintaining stable workshop conditions helps manufacturers produce high-quality products.
