Chemical/Physical Properties
Palatal®A 400TV-957 S is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic unsaturated polyester resin based on isophthalic acid and standard diols, dissolved in styrene. This resin features low viscosity and moderate reactivity. A color-coding system has been implemented.
Applications
Palatal® A 400 TV-957 S is ideal for hand lay-up and spray-up techniques. It easily impregnates reinforcing materials during the lay-up process and does not run off inclined laminates. It is specifically designed for marine applications such as hulls, decks, storage tanks, and piping that come into contact with water. It features low exothermic release, low shrinkage, and good non-stick properties. Palatal® A 400 TV-957 S offers excellent mechanical properties and a high HDT. Palatal® A 400 TV-957 has been approved by the China Classification Society (CCS) as a Class 1 resin for shipbuilding.

: Curing conditions: Add 1.5 g of Butanox M50 to 100 g of resin for curing. Allow to stand at room temperature for 24 hours, then post-cure at 80°C for 24 hours.
Processing Guidelines
- MEKP is recommended as the curing agent. The usage rate is 1%–2.5%. Users may adjust the amount based on ambient temperature and processing time.
- The laminate exhibits good non-stick properties. If secondary lamination is required, we recommend sanding the surface before the second processing step.
- Thixotropic resin. We recommend stirring gently before use.
Application Guidelines
Room-temperature curing products should undergo post-curing to achieve optimal performance. Before post-curing, the product should cure at room temperature for 24 hours. If drilling is required prior to assembly, it is best to let the product sit at room temperature for 24–48 hours before proceeding.
