descriptive

• NOROX® CHP is a colorless to pale yellow liquid solution of cis-isopropylbenzene peroxide. It is an economical free radical initiator for unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl monomers, as well as greases and alkyds.
• NOROX® CHP can be used alone or in combination with other peroxides in ambient and elevated temperature processes.

• NOROX® CHP is particularly suitable for initiating curing of unsaturated polyester resin systems at ambient and elevated temperatures.
• The exothermic profile typically exhibited is mild and flat, resulting in a gradual but thorough cure. This characteristic minimizes cracking and crazing in thicker cross sections.
• NOROX® CHP is typically used in pre-promoted resin systems using cobalt and/or manganese compounds as the primary catalyst.
• CAUTION: NOROX CHP should never be mixed with acids or directly with accelerators or accelerants. It may result in violent decomposition, causing fire and/or explosion.

Technical data

• This combination will result in a lower peak exotherm, the exact magnitude of which is determined by the mix ratio. The use of NOROX® CHP in the mixture will extend the cure time, but should not diminish the final cure.
• At temperatures above 82°C, NOROX® CHP behaves like a highly exothermic peroxide.
• Above 121°C, the use of NOROX® CHP may result in exothermic phenomena beyond what is normally expected for diphenyl ketone peroxide or methyl ethyl ketone peroxide.
