United Initiators DHBP-75-PIC 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.butylperoxy)hexane 78-63-7

Product Description::

  • DHBP-75-PIC is a white paste containing approximately 72% 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(tert.butylperoxy)hexane to which silica gel has been added to reduce sensitivity.
  • This is a bifunctional dialkyl peroxide used primarily as a cross-linking initiator (free radical source) for polymers and for cross-linking silicone rubber at temperatures above 170°C. It is used as a cross-linking initiator (free radical source) for polymers.

Technical data::

  • Appearance: white paste
  • Purity (GC): approx. 75% w/w
  • Active Oxygen (calculated value): approx. 8.11 TP3T w/w
  • Desensitizer: Silica gel
  • Critical temperature (SADT): approx. 90°C
  • Freezing point: below -20°C
  • Recommended storage temperature: below 30°C
  • Storage stability after delivery date: 3 months
  • This product complies with ElektroG (EU Directives: RoHS 2002/95/EG, WEEE 2002/96/EG)
  • Half-life: 10 hours/1 hour/1 minute (0.1 m/benzene): 120/142/190°C

appliance::

  • Polymer crosslinking: A peroxide crosslinker for many polymers and elastomers, especially silicone rubber (VMQ), but also for polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE), ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA or EAM), ethylene/propylene/(diene) rubbers (EPM, EPDM), and fluoroelastomers (FKM).
  • Cross-linking temperature: above 170°C. Below 140°C no premature cross-linking (flaming) occurs.
  • Usage level: 1-4% as supplied raw material.
  • For some inactive polymers, cross-linking efficiency can be improved by the addition of 1-5% synergists such as TAC or EDMA.
  • Special advantages: efficient and very versatile. Paste form facilitates mixing and homogenization. Decomposition products are volatile, odorless and do not cause white spots on the vulcanized rubber surface.
