- DHBP-5-IC5 is a white bead-shaped granule containing approximately 5% w/w of 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(tert-butylperoxy)hexane, encapsulated in polypropylene.
- Its primary use is as a rheology modifier for polypropylene.
- Appearance: White to yellowish bead-shaped granules
- Peroxide Content: Approximately 5% w/w
- Active oxygen content (calculated value): approximately 0.52% w/w
- Compatibility: Polypropylene
- Density (20°C): approx. 0.38 kg/l
- Critical temperature (SADT): approx. 90°C
- Recommended storage temperature: Not to exceed 40°C
- Storage stability after delivery date: 6 months
- Used to control the rheological properties of polypropylene within a temperature range of 200–220°C.
- Recommended usage: 0.1–1.0% w/w of the polymer, based on the supplied product.
- The use of DHBP-5-IC5 can reduce the molecular weight of polypropylene, making it easier to process and reprocess, while also increasing the melt flow index of the rheologically modified material.
- The documentation also includes information on the effects of peroxides used for polymer crosslinking.
- Standard packaging is a 20-kilogram cardboard box.
