Applications
Armowax W-440 is a unique processing aid and compatibilizer suitable for highly filled polyolefins, as well as engineering polymers and elastomers. It significantly improves the processing behavior and performance of filled polymer compounds. Armowax W-440 is a polyester derived from long-chain alcohols. Consequently, its molecules contain both hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups. Consequently, it is also described as a bicomb-shaped polymer. The combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups improves the wetting of the filler surface by the polymer matrix, thereby ensuring optimal dispersion.
The unique properties of Armowax W-440 stem from the presence of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups within its molecule. This combination of groups promotes wetting of the filler surface by the polymer, thereby achieving optimal dispersion of inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate, talc, carbon black, or glass fibers.
Thanks to its good compatibility with polymers and low melting point, Armowax W-440 also improves the processing flowability of polymers. If conventional dispersants fail to meet application requirements, Armowax W-440 is worth considering.
