Product Information:
- Trigonox 117 Solar is a highly efficient crosslinking peroxide primarily used as a crosslinking agent for encapsulation films (EVA/POE) in the production of photovoltaic devices.
- CAS Number: 34443-12-4, Molecular Weight: 246.3.
- Active oxygen content is 6.49% of the peroxide.
- Specifications: Active oxygen content ≥ 6.39%; appearance: clear liquid; purity ≥ 98.5%; color ≤ 30 Pt-Co / APHA; moisture content ≤ 0.15%.
Properties and Applications:
- Density: 0.930 g/cm³; viscosity at 20°C: 5.8 mPa·s.
- The recommended dosage of Trigonox 117 Solar is 0.5% to 1.75% by weight of the polymer.
- It can be used for crosslinking polymers at moderate temperatures; the typical crosslinking temperature is 130–140°C.
- Recommended for demanding applications, such as cross-linked ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) or polyolefin elastomer (POE) films, ultimately used in the production of photovoltaic devices; the curing reaction allows for solar cell lamination temperatures of 135–170°C.
Thermal Stability and Storage:
- The self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is 60°C, meeting international standards for thermal stability.
- The recommended maximum storage temperature (Ts Max.) is 20°C. When stored under recommended conditions, the product remains within Norn Chemical’s specifications for at least 3 months after delivery.
Packaging and Shipping:
- Trigonox 117 Solar is packaged in 30-liter HDPE drums (Nourytainer), each containing 25 kilograms of peroxide. It complies with international shipping regulations.
Safety and Handling:
- It is recommended to store and handle the product in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat sources, ignition sources, and direct sunlight. Avoid contact with reducing agents, acids, bases, and heavy metal compounds.
- For detailed information on safe storage, use, and handling, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
