Product Description:

  • Appearance: colorless liquid
  • Peroxide content: approx. 75% w/w
  • Active oxygen content: approx. 6.3% w/w
  • Desensitizer: Aliphatic hydrocarbon (boiling point >170°C)
  • Density (20°C): approx. 0.84 g/cm³
  • Viscosity (20°C): approx. 3 mPa-s
  • Refractive index (20°C): approx. 1.429
  • Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons
  • SADT (critical temperature): approx. 55°C
  • Refrigeration stability: below -25°C
  • Starting temperature: approx. 75°C
  • Recommended storage temperature: below 20°C
  • Retention time: 3 months from date of delivery

Applications:

  • Curing agents for unsaturated polyester resins
  • Temperature range: 80-150°C
  • Dose level: 1-31 TP3T as supply
  • Shelf life" (gelation time of the resin + peroxide) of several days or weeks at room temperature.
  • Sensitive to certain fillers, pigments and additives
  • Inhibitor BC 500 with 0.1-0.31 TP3T significantly extends shelf life

Curing Characteristics:

  • In the range of 70-80°C ("starting" temperature), curing is slow, unless there is an exothermic reaction (e.g. in a mold with insulation). A really short cure time of 1-3 minutes can only be achieved above 120°C.
  • Therefore, the optimum temperature range for thermo-compression molding is 120-150°C.

Treatment:

  • It is mainly used for hot press molding of sheet molding composites (SMC) or block molding composites (BMC), wet press molding (e.g. profile, paper layer pressing), impregnation (winding).

Storage:

  • Observe recommended storage temperature ranges to maintain quality and availability, for safety reasons
  • Comply with the safety recommendations of local regulations and codes, as well as the requirements of the relevant authorities and the requirements of your insurance provider.

Packaging: TMCH-HA-M1 is packaged in a standard 20kg package.
