Product Description:

  • Shelf life: 3 months from the date of delivery
Applications:
  • Curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins
  • Temperature range: 80–150°C
  • Dosage: 1–3% as supplied
  • "Shelf life" at room temperature (gel time of resin + peroxide) is several days or weeks
  • Sensitive to certain fillers, pigments, and additives
  • Adding 0.1–0.3% of the inhibitor BC 500 can significantly extend the shelf life
Curing characteristics:
  • Within the 70–80°C range (“initial” temperature), the curing rate is slow unless an exothermic reaction occurs (e.g., in an insulated mold). True short-time curing (1–3 minutes) is only achievable at temperatures above 120°C.
  • Therefore, the optimal temperature range for hot-press molding is 120–150°C.
Processing Methods:
  • Primarily used for hot-press molding of sheet molding compounds (SMC) or bulk molding compounds (BMC), wet-press molding (e.g., profiles, paper laminates), and impregnation (filament winding).
