Description:

• TMCH-90-AL is a colorless, easy-flowing liquid containing 90%'s 1,1-Bis(tert.butylperoxy)3,3,5-trimethyl cyclohexane, which is inhibited via aliphatic hydrocarbons. This cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon peroxide is mainly used as an initiator (source of free radicals) for the polymerization of monomers (e.g. styrene) as well as for the curing and polymerization of unsaturated polyester resins.

Areas of application:

• Vinyl: initiator for high pressure vinyl polymerization, used with other peroxides of different activity. Temperature range: 200-250°C. Main advantages include: liquid, even at low and high pressures, insensitive to other components of the polymerization process.
• Styrene: Used in the polymerization of styrene, either in bulk or solution polymerization, and copolymerization with other monomers such as butadiene and acrylonitrile. Temperature range: 100-140°C. Suggested dosage: 0.02-0.11 TP3T as supplied. Main advantages include: reduced residual monomer content, no reaction with chain modifiers (e.g. mercapto compounds), no hydrolysis in alkaline media.
• Other monomers: For polymerization of vinyl acetate and (meth)acrylate. Temperature range: 90-130°C. Suggested dosage: 0.05-1% as supplied.

Packaging:

• Standard packaging is HDPE drums of 25 kg each.
