Product Description:

  • Colorless, mobile liquid containing 75% of tert-butyl peroxyterpentyl ester sensitized to inhibition via aliphatic hydrocarbons.
  • This branch of fatty peroxides is commonly used as an initiator (source of free radicals) for the polymerization of monomers such as ethylene, vinyl chloride, and vinyl acetate.

Applications:

  • For the polymerization of high pressure ethylene in combination with peroxides with higher thermal stability. Suitable for temperatures in the range 130-190°C.
  • Characteristics: Highly efficient, liquid, easily mixed with high boiling point aliphatic hydrocarbons.
  • For vinyl chloride, it can be used for bulk or suspension polymerization in the temperature range of 50-65°C. Dosage: 0.04-0.11 TP3T as supplied.
  • Suitable for polymerization of other monomers such as acrylonitrile, (meth)acrylates and vinyl acetate in the temperature range of 50-80°C. Dosage: 0.04-0.11 TP3T as supplied. Combined with more thermally stable peroxides the residual monomer content in the polymer can be reduced.
