Applications:
- Ethylene: An initiator for high-pressure ethylene polymerization, used in combination with other peroxides of varying degrees of reactivity. Temperature range: 190°C – 240°C. Characteristics: Highly effective.
- Styrene: A polymerization initiator for styrene, suitable for both bulk and suspension systems. Temperature range: 100°C – 140°C. Dosage: 0.02–0.1% of the feedstock.Advantages: Reduces residual monomer content in polymers; a substitute for benzyl tert-butyl peroxybenzoate. Recommended for use in combination with more reactive peroxy compounds (such as tert-butyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate).
- Other Monomers: Polymerization initiators for (methyl)acrylates and acrylic resins. Temperature range: 100°C – 160°C. Usage: 1–3% of the supplied product.
