Applications:
- Perkadox® PD-50S-PS is primarily used for the crosslinking of silicone rubber.
- Silicone rubber containing Perkadox® PD-50S-PS can be cross-linked under conditions without external pressure, such as hot air and/or infrared curing.
- It can be easily blended with silicone rubber using a twin-roll mixer.
- The recommended safe processing temperature (rheometer ts2 > 20 minutes) is 65°C, and the typical crosslinking temperature (rheometer t90 approximately 12 minutes) is 90°C.
Thermal Stability:
- Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances that undergo self-accelerated decomposition.
- The self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is 60°C (140°F).
- The maximum storage temperature is 30°C (86°F).
Decomposition Products: Major decomposition products include carbon dioxide, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid, and trace amounts of 2,2',4,4'-tetrachlorobiphenyl.
Safety and Handling:
- Perkadox® PD-50S-PS is classified as “Reproductive Toxicity, Category 1B.”
- When storing and handling, keep the container sealed, protect from direct sunlight, and keep away from heat sources or ignition sources.
- Avoid weighing and repackaging in storage areas, and avoid contact with reducing agents, acids, bases, and heavy metal compounds.
