Composite products made from phthalate-type unsaturated polyester resins based on
Palatal® P 6-901 exhibit excellent mechanical and heat resistance properties.
- Good mechanical properties
- Good heat resistance
- Good chemical resistance
Product Properties
Palatal® P 6-901 is a general-purpose orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin with medium viscosity and high reactivity.
Typical Applications
Palatal® P 6-901 is suitable for hand lay-up, filament winding, and other processes. It offers high mechanical strength and good heat and chemical resistance, and is widely used in various unreinforced and glass-fiber-reinforced products, such as pipes, storage tanks, marine vessels, automotive components, and other structural parts.

Process Operation Guidelines
- Before use, the resin must be stored under suitable temperature and humidity conditions for a period of time to stabilize. When using the MEKP/Co curing system, the operating temperature should generally be above 15°C;
- Palatal® P 6-901 resin does not contain an accelerator; a cobalt-based accelerator must be added during use. MEKP may be used as the curing agent; ensure the curing agent is within its shelf life;
- To prevent the natural molded surfaces of the product that come into contact with air from becoming tacky after curing, it is recommended to add a paraffin-styrene solution.
- Workshop temperature should be maintained between 18°C and 32°C, and workshop humidity should be maintained between 40% and 90%. Consistent workshop conditions ensure consistent gel times and help manufacturers produce high-quality products;
- To achieve optimal physical and chemical properties, the product’s final cured state can be optimized by subjecting it to a post-curing treatment at a high temperature (e.g., 80°C) for several hours prior to use.
