United Initiators NOROX®SHP-90 Acetylacetone Peroxide 37187-22-7 (CAS 37187-22-7)

NOROX® SHP-90 is a clear to pale yellow liquid formulated with acetone peroxide and peroxide esters. It is a highly effective polymerization initiator for the room-temperature and high-temperature curing of unsaturated polyester resins. Technical Data

Applications: The combination of NOROX® SHP-90 and cobalt-accelerated resins has been proven to serve as an excellent curing system for unsaturated polyesters at both room temperature and elevated temperatures. The cobalt content (naphthoic acid or octanoic acid in a 1% solution) should range from 0.1% to 1.0%.Compared to MEKP initiators, NOROX® SHP-90 offers the advantages of more complete curing, reduced residual styrene, and stronger parts. Compared to standard AAP, it provides similar gel times and slightly higher peak exothermic heat release, but with superior final cure.Typical applications for NOROX® SHP-40 include manufacturing processes such as RTM, fiber winding, centrifugal casting, and continuous lamination.
