Product Description:

• Norox® MEC FRED is a red mixture of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and cyclohexanone peroxide containing diluent.
• This product is designed to be used as an initiator for unsaturated polyester resins, providing excellent curing properties at both low and ambient temperatures.
• The addition of red dye aids in mixing and indicates that proper curing is complete when the color fades.

Technical data:

• The active oxygen content does not exceed 9.0.
• The form is liquid and the color is colorless.
• The specific gravity at 25°C is 1.12 and the viscosity is 18.0 cps.
• Flash point is 170°F / 77°C (SETA C.C. method).
• Soluble in oxygenated organic solvents, slightly soluble in water.

Applications:

• Norox® MEC FRED is recommended as a gel and cure initiator for cobalt promoted unsaturated polyester resins at low operating temperatures.
• Compared to standard methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) formulations, this product offers the following advantages:
