Applications: Norox® MEC-EX RED is suitable for the gelation and curing of cobalt-promoted unsaturated polyester resins at low operating temperatures. It also performs well at room temperature. Advantages over standard MEKP formulations include:

1. Gel-to-cure times are shorter in many resins.
2. Not as affected in cold conditions as standard MEKP.
3. Excellent smoothness and uniformity during the cure cycle.

Storage and processing:

• Storage temperatures are recommended to be no more than 80°F (27°C) and no less than 70°F (21°C) to maintain maximum shelf life.
• Store in the original container away from flammable materials, heat sources, sparks or flames, direct sunlight, cobalt naphthalates, other accelerators, accelerants, oxidizers, reducing agents, and strong acids or bases.
• Leaking containers should be removed immediately and isolated in a safe area. Repackage or dispose of immediately (see spill instructions).
• Never store it in a refrigerator containing food and/or beverages.

Emergency response:

• Eyes: Immediately flush with plenty of water, keep rinsing for at least 15 minutes, medical attention required.
• Skin: wash with soap and water.
• SWALLOWING: Drink large amounts of milk or water and call a doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting. It is recommended that a local poison control center be called to assist a physician.

Spill handling and fire response:

• Spills should be immediately adsorbed with an adsorbent material (vermiculite or sand).
• Immediately after adsorption, moisten with water and place in a clean plastic bag, then place in a plastic bucket.
• Dispose of spills immediately in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

Packaging, transportation and delivery:

• NOROX® MEC-EX RED is available in standard package sizes of 4 x 8 lb and 44 lb (20 kg) polyethylene bottles.
