- Chemical Composition: Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP)
- Appearance: Red, free-flowing liquid containing a methyl ethyl ketone-based peroxide, demilitarized with fatty esters. This ketone peroxide is used as an initiator (radical source) in the curing of unsaturated polyester resins.
- Special Advantages: The red color of the peroxide allows for controlled homogenization within the resin; the red color disappears after curing. It is highly effective in specific pre-accelerated and stabilized resin types.
- Main Applications: Used at room temperature in conjunction with cobalt accelerators for the curing of molded parts.
