- NOROX® ENP-102 is a colorless liquid consisting of a methyl ethyl ketone-based peroxide that has been deactivated with saturated fatty esters.
- It is used as a free-radical source to initiate the curing of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins.
- Main Applications: Curing large molded parts at room temperature in conjunction with a cobalt catalyst.
- Appearance: Colorless liquid
- Active oxygen content: approx. 8.6% w/w
- Deactivator: Saturated fatty esters
- Density at 20°C: approx. 1.01 g/cm³
- Viscosity at 20°C: Approximately 13 mPa·s
- Solubility: Insoluble in water; miscible with esters, unsaturated polyester resins, and vinyl ester resins
- Primarily used at room temperature in conjunction with a cobalt catalyst for curing large molded parts.
- Suitable for all types of unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins.
- Standard dosage range: 1–3% as supplied; 0.5–2% when used with a 1% cobalt solution (or an alternative cobalt amine catalyst).
- Curing time is short; however, it is relatively long, particularly when curing ortho-cresol or isocresol resins.
