- NOROX® 411 is a colorless liquid consisting primarily of technically pure tert-amyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate.
- It is a branched aliphatic peroxyester used as a free-radical initiator for curing unsaturated polyester resins at temperatures between 70 and 150°C; it may be used in conjunction with cobalt accelerators.

- Polyester Curing: A curing agent for UP resins; may be used in conjunction with cobalt accelerators. Temperature range: 70–150°C.
- Recommended usage: 1–2%, may be used in combination with 0.5–1% of Co-1 accelerator.
- "Shelf life" (gel time of resin + peroxide) is several weeks at room temperature, depending on resin type, fillers, and pigments.
- "Pot life" (gel time of resin + peroxide + accelerator) can be up to several days, depending on temperature and peroxide dosage.
- Adding 0.1–0.3% of the inhibitor BC-510 can significantly extend the shelf life or pot life.
- Within the range of 65–75°C (the “kick-off” temperature), the curing rate is not rapid unless exothermic reactions occur (e.g., in a heated mold). Rapid curing can only be achieved through wet compression molding within the optimal temperature range of 110–130°C.
- Particularly suitable for continuous impregnation (paper lamination), wet-heat molding, wood varnish topcoats, and infrared-heated electrical insulating varnishes.
