The isophthalic neopentyl glycol gel coat
Neogel® 8575-W-XXXX has been widely used in applications such as sanitary ware, swimming pools, marine vessels, and water amusement facilities—areas that demand higher levels of water resistance and weather resistance.
Key Properties
Neogel® 8575-W-XXXX is a meta-phenylene neopentyl glycol gel coat with excellent overall performance. It is easy to use and offers excellent deaeration properties and mechanical performance. Its long-term resistance to hot water (high resistance to foaming), weather resistance (resistance to yellowing), and curing performance in high-humidity environments are particularly outstanding.
Application Characteristics
Neogel® 8575-W-XXXX is a pre-accelerated, thixotropic gel coat. For the following process types, Neogel® 8575-W-XXXX is available in a wide range of colors:
- Spray-up process (gel coat grade 8575-W-XXXX)
- Hand lay-up process (gel coat grade 8575-W-XXXX H)
In addition, Neogel® 8575-W-XXXX can be used in the following processes: - Air-drying spray-up process (gel coat grade: 8575-T-XXXX)
- Air-curing hand lay-up process (gel coat grade 8575-T-XXXX H)
When using spray equipment, we recommend that customers operate under the following conditions:
- For compressed-air spray guns, the nozzle diameter should be 2.0–3.5 mm, with a spray pressure of 4–5 atm
- For non-air-powered spray guns, the recommended nozzle sizes are: 18/40–21/40
To achieve optimal results, we recommend that customers ensure the following application conditions:
- Gel coat application temperature between 18°C and 25°C
- Use a curing agent solution with a 50% MEKP* concentration at a dosage of 1.0%–2.5%
- Coating thickness should be no less than 600–800 g/m²
