- CUROX® M-402R is a red, free-flowing liquid composed of methyl ethyl ketone-based peroxides and deactivated with aliphatic esters.
- It serves as a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, and its red color helps ensure optimal homogenization within the resin mixture.
- Appearance: Red liquid
- Active Oxygen Content: Approx. 9.9% w/w
- Desensitizer: Aliphatic esters
- Density at 20°C: approx. 1.04 g/cm³
- Viscosity at 20°C: approx. 22 mPa·s
- Refractive index at 20°C: 1.434
- Solubility: Insoluble in water; soluble in esters and UP/VE resins
- Critical temperature (SADT): approx. 60°C
- Refrigerated stability: Remains liquid below -25°C
- Recommended storage temperature: Below 30°C
- Shelf life at 30°C from the date of delivery: 6 months
- CUROX® M-402R is used as a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, typically in combination with cobalt-based catalysts at room temperature.
- Standard dosage: 1–3% of the supply volume; 0.2–2% of a 1% cobalt solution.
- Particularly suitable for casting buttons or centrifugal casting of button blanks at room temperature using small amounts of cobalt catalyst.
- Moderate heat release, resulting in curing with low internal stress.
- Relatively long mold release time.
- Particularly suitable for processes with short gel times, even when using small amounts of cobalt.
- Developed for processes with short gel times, suitable for applications such as cast buttons, centrifugal-cast UP buttons or button blanks, and continuous impregnation of (corrugated) sheets.
- CUROX® M-402R is available in standard packaging sizes, including 5-kilogram and 22.5-kilogram polyethylene bottles.
