Product Description: CUROX® M-402 is a transparent liquid mixture based on methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, primarily used as a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins.It has been modified to reduce sensitivity and is primarily used for casting buttons or button blanks at room temperature, in combination with a small amount of cobalt accelerator. Applications: CUROX® M-402 is primarily used as a curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins and can be combined with cobalt accelerators for use at room temperature. The standard dosage is 1–3% of the resin weight, combined with 0.2–2% of a 1% cobalt solution.The gel time for the resin + peroxide mixture is short, typically only a few hours, depending on temperature and resin type. The curing time for the resin + peroxide + accelerator mixture is also short, even when only a small amount of accelerator is added. Curing Properties: Exhibits moderate exothermic activity, resulting in low internal stress and a longer demolding time.By using the minimum required amount of accelerator, only slight discoloration will occur in the finished product. Processing Methods: Particularly suitable for processes requiring short gel times with low cobalt content, such as casting buttons or button blanks, as well as continuous impregnation (corrugated) sheets. Packaging: CUROX® M-402 is available in standard 5-kilogram and 22.5-kilogram polyethylene bottles.
