- CUROX® M-370 is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid mixture consisting of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and acetylacetone peroxide, blended with dimethyl phthalate.
- It is primarily used to cure unsaturated polyester resins in conjunction with cobalt accelerators at 20–40 °C for the compression molding of polyester parts at ambient temperatures.
- Appearance: Clear, slightly yellowish liquid.
- Inhibitor: Dimethyl phthalate.
- Active Oxygen (AO): Minimum 7.7% w/w.
- Density (20°C): Approximately 1.13 g/cm³.
- Viscosity (20°C): Approximately 28 mPa·s.
- Flash point: > 65°C.
- Insoluble in water, but miscible with phthalate esters and unsaturated polyester resins.
- Critical temperature (SADT): approximately 60°C.
- Recommended storage temperature: 0–25°C.
- Storage stability from date of delivery: 3 months.
- Standard packaging: 25-kilogram HDPE drums.
- A special cold curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins, designed for use with cobalt accelerators at ambient temperatures.
- Small amounts of inhibitors can be used to extend the gel time, but high doses of inhibitors are generally not recommended, as they reduce the reactivity of the peroxides.
- The gel time is similar to that of CUROX® M-303, but the curing rate is significantly faster.
- Not suitable for thermosetting systems or vinyl resins.
- The product is suitable for various processes, such as hand lay-up, spray-up, RTM, continuous lamination, centrifugal casting, fiber winding, and the curing of molded parts made from polyester concrete.
- Decomposition products that may be detected include acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, fatty acids, and acetylacetone.
- Avoid heat sources, light, and humidity, and protect the product from contaminants. Store within the safe temperature range.
