CUROX® M-100 is a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide used for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. The following is key information about this product: Appearance and Properties:
  • A colorless, free-flowing liquid containing a methyl ethyl ketone-based peroxide that has been de-sensitized with phthalate plasticizers.
  • The product is suitable for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins at room temperature in combination with cobalt accelerators.
  • Oxygen content: minimum 9.5%.
  • Density: approximately 1.148 g/cm³; viscosity: approximately 23 mPa·s.
Applications:
  • Primarily used as a curing agent for unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins.
  • When used in combination with a cobalt accelerator at room temperature, the recommended dosage is 1–3% of the resin weight.
  • The “pot life” is typically only a few hours, depending on temperature and resin type.
  • The “pot life” is relatively short, particularly when used with phthalate resins, but can be extended by adding inhibitors.
Curing Performance:
  • When used with vinyl ester (VE) resins, it provides shorter gel and cure times compared to Curox M-200 or Curox M-300.
  • Suitable for polyester resins, it provides longer gel and cure times.
  • Heat generation during curing is moderate, resulting in lower internal stresses during the curing process.
  • Relatively short demolding time, i.e., good demolding properties.
Processing Methods:
  • Particularly suitable for hand lay-up, spray-up, centrifugal casting, filament winding, resin casting, and surface coatings (fillers, putty, adhesive layers, and topcoats).
Spraying Equipment:
  • Use the spraying equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Do not clean the spray tip by spraying methyl ethyl ketone peroxide into the air.

  • Store the product in a sealed container at a temperature below +30°C.
  • Keep in a well-ventilated area.
  • Keep away from ignition sources and heat sources (e.g., direct sunlight).
  • Isolate from other hazardous and incompatible substances.
  • Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation.
  • If necessary, collect vapors at the point of generation using a dust collector.
  • Avoid the formation of aerosols.
  • Do not inhale vapors or aerosols.
  • If necessary, wear appropriate respiratory protection.
