- Used for curing unsaturated polyester resins in combination with cobalt/cobalt-amine accelerators at room temperature.
- Recommended usage: 1–2.5% (based on the supplied dosage), used in combination with 0.5–2% of a 1% cobalt solution.
- Suitability for vinyl resins is limited; may be used in combination with cobalt octoate and xylenamine to achieve a stronger accelerating effect.
- The “dormancy period” (gel time of the resin + peroxide + accelerator) is sufficiently long to allow for vacuum impregnation or injection molding.
- Depending on the resin type, heat release is minimal, and good cure rates are ensured in both thin and thick layers.
- The gel time and gel-to-peak time for unsaturated polyester resins are longer than those of standard methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (Curox M-303).
- Temperatures below 20°C significantly prolong curing time; in such cases, cobalt/amine accelerators should be used.
- Hand lay-up, spray-up, filament winding, impregnation processes, and particularly RTM (Resin Transfer Molding).
- Use spray equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
- Do not clean spray guns by spraying peroxide into the air.
