United Initiators BENOX® L-40LV Diphenylacetyl Peroxide 94-36-0

2023-10-11benoxl-40lv
Product Description:
  • BENOX® L-40LV is a low-viscosity, sprayable diphenylcarbamoyl peroxide dispersion.
  • Primarily designed for the “curing” of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, it offers several advantages:
    1. Low water content
    2. Faster gel-to-peak time compared to MEKP systems
    3. Lower exothermic effect than MEKP systems
    4. Less “packing” in spray equipment used for applying diphenylcarbamoyl peroxide dispersions
    5. More stable than commonly available BPO dispersions on the market, with less separation
    6. Minimal viscosity fluctuations
  • BENOX® L-40LV can also be used as a polymerization initiator for vinyl monomers (e.g., styrene, acrylates, etc.).
Technical Data:
  • Dibenzoyl peroxide content: 40%
  • Active oxygen content: 2.64%
  • Appearance: White dispersion
  • Density (25°C / 4°C): 1.2
  • Viscosity (Brookfield HBT #4 spindle, 50 rpm, 25°C): approx. 1000 cps
  • Critical temperature (SADT): >50°C
  • Recommended storage temperature: 0°C to 25°C
  • Storage stability after delivery date: 12 months
Applications:
  • BENOX® L-40LV is a low-viscosity dispersion that may separate slightly after standing for some time. However, it can be easily remixed and should be stirred immediately before use.
  • During use, flush the spray equipment with isopropyl alcohol, methanol, or acetone, then clean with soap and water.
  • BENOX® L-40LV is ideal for curing acrylic resin-based road marking paints.
  • To successfully spray BENOX® L-40LV using equipment typically designed for MEKP systems, the catalyst delivery system must be modified. Spray equipment suppliers can recommend appropriate modifications for their equipment.
  • Under normal spray equipment operating conditions, BENOX® L-40LV should not separate or “pack” in the catalyst delivery system. However, when the system is shut down for an extended period (i.e., overnight) and there are no plans to circulate BENOX® L-40LV, the catalyst section should be depressurized.
Storage:
  • Storage at 21°C (70°F) or lower is recommended. Avoid freezing.
  • Store in the original container, away from flammable materials and all heat sources, sparks, or flames; away from direct sunlight; and away from reducing agents such as amines, strong acids or strong bases, and heavy metal compounds (e.g., accelerators and catalysts).
Packaging:
  • BENOX® L-40LV is standardly packaged in 20-kilogram (45-pound) HDPE bottles, 22.5-kilogram drums, or 200-kilogram (440-pound) polyethylene drums. Weight is net weight.
