Accelerator™ NL-49PN is a cobalt accelerator used for curing unsaturated polyester resins.
Applications
The curing of unsaturated polyester resins at ambient temperature generally cannot be achieved using organic peroxides alone. The formation of free radicals necessary to initiate the polymerization reaction occurs at ambient temperature, but the most commonly used organic peroxides are too slow. Therefore, to accelerate radical formation in a controlled manner, organic peroxides must be used in combination with so-called accelerators. For ketone peroxides such as methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, cyclohexanone peroxide, and acetylacetone peroxide, cobalt accelerators must be used.
