Trigonox® EHP-W50 (50% aqueous emulsion) is a polymerization initiator used for the (co)polymerization of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride.
Applications
Polymerization of Vinyl Chloride – Trigonox® EHP-W50 is used as an initiator for the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride at temperatures ranging from 40°C to 65°C. Trigonox® EHP-W50 can be used in combination with other peroxides, such as 1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl neodecanoate (Trigonox® 423), isopropylphenyl neodecanoate peroxide (Trigonox® 99), or di-lauroyl peroxide (Laurox) to improve reactor efficiency. The reasons for using water-based peroxide emulsions instead of solvent-based peroxides are as follows: Improved safety; ease of use in “closed-reactor technology” (pumpable); and ease of dilution with water.
