Applications
Trigonox® 101-45D-PD is a bifunctional peroxide suitable for the crosslinking of natural and synthetic rubbers, as well as polyolefins. Rubber compounds containing Trigonox® 101-45D-PD exhibit excellent scorch resistance and, under certain conditions, allow for one-step mixing.Safe processing temperature: 135°C (rheometer ts2 > 20 minutes). Typical crosslinking temperature: 175°C (rheometer t90 approximately 12 minutes).
Thermal Stability
Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances that may undergo self-accelerating decomposition. The lowest temperature at which self-accelerating decomposition occurs in the original packaging is referred to as the self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT). The SADT is determined based on thermal accumulation storage testing.
- SADT: 80°C
- Method: The thermal accumulation storage test is a recognized test method for determining the SADT of organic peroxides (see the Test Manuals and Standards of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods—UN, New York and Geneva).
Storage
Due to the relative instability of organic peroxides, product quality may deteriorate over time. To minimize quality loss, Nouryon recommends a maximum storage temperature (Ts max.) for each organic peroxide product.
- Ts max.: 30°C
- Minimum storage temperature (Ts min.): 0°C
- Note: When stored under these recommended conditions, Trigonox® 101-45D-PD will remain within Nouryon specifications for at least 6 months after delivery.
Packaging and Shipping
Standard packaging is in 20-kilogram cardboard boxes. Both packaging and shipping comply with international regulations. For other packaging quantities, please contact your local Nouryon representative. Trigonox® 101-45D-PD is classified as an organic peroxide, Type E; solid, Class 5.2; UN 3108.
