Chemical/Physical Properties

Synolite™ 8388-P-1 is a low viscosity, pre-accelerated, promoted, thixotropic, medium reactivity DCPD polyester resin. LSE systems are incorporated.
Synolite™ 8388-P-1 does not contain monomer amines.

Synolite™ 8388-P-1 was developed for hand lay-up and spray applications to produce high performance structural laminates.

Main characteristics

Synolite™ 8388-P-1 combines good mechanical properties with optimal processability. The resin exhibits very good fiber wetting and impregnation properties.
Thick laminates can be manufactured in a single run due to low exotherm, good full cure and relatively low shrinkage. Optimized LSE systems have been developed to achieve excellent low styrene emissions. Color change systems facilitate spray applications. Synolite™ 8388-P-1 can be used with powder and emulsion bonding pads.

Curing conditions
Cure with 1% Butanox M-50. Cure at room temperature for 24 hours. Then 24 hours at 70°C.

Chemical/Physical Properties Synolite 5001-T-1 is a DCPD-based, thixotropic, non-halogenated, non-pre-promoted unsaturated polyester resin. Main Applications As part of a filled flame retardant resin system, it is suitable for hand coating, cold press molding, resin transfer molding, centrifugal casting and pultrusion molding. Key Properties The system offers high flame retardancy and low smoke emissions. The finished product has superior dimensional stability and electrical resistance characteristics.
