Ketjenblack EC-300J is a conductive carbon black that has the least impact on mechanical properties.
Applications
Ketjenblack EC-300J is a highly pure carbon black that is ideal for antistatic and conductive applications. Due to its unique morphology and very high surface area of approx. 800 m²/g (BET), only one-third the amount of Ketjenblack EC-300J is needed to achieve the same conductivity compared to conventional conductive carbon black. The lower loading of Ketjenblack EC-300J makes it easier to process polymers that are sensitive to filler addition, thereby minimizing losses in mechanical and rheological properties. When fully dispersed in the polymer, Ketjenblack EC-300J significantly improves the electrical conductivity of the resulting compound. Ketjenblack EC-300J can be used in all types of polymers, thermosets, thermoplastics, and elastomers. Thanks to its unique morphology and structure, and the relatively small amount of Ketjenblack EC-300J required, it can be used to produce excellent conductive materials. The low particle content results in an exceptionally smooth surface during the extrusion process. The loading required to achieve a specific level of electrical conductivity varies depending on the polymer type. Further details are provided in our special Ketjenblack EC technical bulletin. Ketjenblack EC-300J has an extremely low ash content, making it the material of choice for semiconductor applications in cable shielding. Ketjenblack EC-300J can also be used to produce conductive coatings and primers. Here, too, optimal conductivity is achieved at very low loading levels, minimizing losses in mechanical and rheological properties. Other applications include batteries, IC packaging, piping, flooring, carpet backing, automotive components, mobile phones, and more. For applications with higher performance requirements, Ketjenblack EC-600JD is available, which achieves the same conductivity as Ketjenblack EC-300J at approximately half the dosage.
