MgO-Thickened VE Resin for Structural SMC Applications

Components based on Atlac® XP 810 X offer high mechanical properties and superior heat resistance. In addition, they exhibit excellent chemical resistance. With Atlac® XP 810 X resin, you can manufacture robust and durable parts using glass fiber and carbon fiber.

Main Applications

This resin is used for components in trucks and passenger cars located near internal combustion engines, such as oil pans and valve covers. Atlac® XP 810 X has a high molecular weight, making it easy to thicken with MgO. When combined with Palapreg® H814-01, the SMC can be uniformly colored.

Application Guide

Atlac® XP810X can be processed with Palapreg® Low-Profile Additive (LPA) to produce LS/LP SMC and BMC. Depending on the size of the molded part, it is recommended to add 300 to 600 ppm of p-benzoquinone to the system (calculated based on the UP resin plus LPA).
