Introduction
WP-S3000, a 125°C curing epoxy resin system from Wells New Materials (WAM), achieves an optimal balance between static properties (flexural and compressive strength, and elasticity) and dynamic properties (impact strength and fatigue characteristics). It is widely used in the manufacture of high-performance sports equipment such as bicycles, ice hockey sticks, tennis rackets, golf clubs, and similar products. By adjusting the resin’s flowability, the viscosity and flexibility required for prepreg processing can be achieved. Variations in performance characteristics (viscosity and flexibility) due to temperature changes are minimized.WP-S3000 can be stored for four weeks at room temperature and for one year at -18°C.
Features and Benefits
- A standard-viscosity epoxy resin specifically designed for various mold forming processes and the production of tubular products
- Optimal balance of static and dynamic properties: high impact strength and high flexural strength
- Excellent resin flow properties
- Hot-melt resin/solvent-free: Minimizes porosity, ensuring the highest quality
- Optimal prepreg workability: Good flexibility, with minimal variation in resin properties across temperature ranges
- Reasonable price and excellent quality
- Shelf life: Approximately 4 weeks (at 25°C)
Recommended Application Processes and Products
- Mold Forming Processes (Blow Molding, Autoclave Molding, Hot Press Molding):
Bicycles, hockey sticks, tennis rackets, helmets, mechanical components, etc. - Winding Process: Fishing rods, golf clubs, arrow shafts, camera tripods, etc.
Reference Curing Conditions
- Mold Molding: 90 minutes to 30 minutes (120–150°C)
- Tube (golf clubs, fishing rods) Molding: 30 minutes at 80°C + 90 minutes at 125°C
Molding Conditions: Adjustments are required based on product thickness, heat transfer capacity, and molding method.
