Trigonox® V388 is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of cobalt accelerators at room and elevated temperatures.

Trigonox® V388 is a general purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of cobalt accelerators at room and elevated temperatures. The curing system Trigonox® V388/Cobalt accelerator has been developed for general purpose GRP and non-GRP applications such as curing of laminating resins and castings. Years of practical experience have proven that for marine applications a special MEKP with low water content and without polar compounds is required to prevent penetration and other problems. Butanox® M-50 is the recommended MEKP for this application, and for room temperature applications Trigonox® V388 is required in combination with a cobalt accelerator such as Accelerator® NL-49PN.
