Trigonox® V388 VRB is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) with a VRB system, used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and high temperatures in the presence of a cobalt accelerator.
Applications
Trigonox® V388 VRB is a general-purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and elevated temperatures in the presence of a cobalt accelerator. The Trigonox® V388 VRB/cobalt accelerator curing system was developed for general-purpose GRP and non-GRP applications, such as the curing of laminating resins and castings. For room-temperature applications, Trigonox® V388 VRB must be used in combination with a cobalt accelerator (e.g., Accelerator® NL-49PN). The Vanishing Red (VR) series includes a red indicator system that disappears during the curing process. The red color is visible only when needed but is not visible in the final product. Key features include: indicating the presence of the initiator, monitoring the mixing step, monitoring curing via color, and indicating uncured areas in the mold; last but not least, it ensures the final product remains colorless after curing.
