Trigonox C, tert-butyl benzoate peroxide, is an aromatic peroxide used for high-temperature curing of unsaturated polyester resins.Trigonox C is primarily used for hot-press molding (SMC, BMC, etc.) of unsaturated polyester resins in the 120–170°C range.Trigonox C can also be used in combination with highly reactive peroxides such as Perkadox 16 or Trigonox HMa as co-initiators for pultrusion processes in the 100–150°C range.CAS No. 614-45-9, EINECS/ELINCS No. 210-382-2, molecular weight 194.2 as listed on the TSCA Status List, active oxygen content (peroxide) 8.24%.

Applications Trigonox C can be used in the following market segments: polymer production, polymer crosslinking, thermoset composites, and acrylic resins, with various applications and functions.
Thermal Stability: Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances that are capable of self-accelerating decomposition. The self-accelerating decomposition temperature (SADT) is the lowest temperature at which a substance may undergo self-accelerating decomposition within the packaging in which it is transported. The SADT is determined based on a heat accumulation storage test.

Storage: Due to the relative instability of organic peroxides, some loss of quality may occur over time. To minimize this loss, Nouryon recommends a maximum storage temperature (MST) for each organic peroxide.

Note: To prevent crystallization. When stored under the recommended conditions, Trigonox C will remain within Nouryon’s product specifications for at least 3 months after delivery.
Packaging and Shipping: Standard packaging consists of 30-liter HDPE drums (Nourytainers) containing 25 kilograms of peroxide product. Packaging and shipping comply with international regulations. Please contact a Nouryon sales representative regarding the availability of other package sizes. Trigonox C is classified as an organic peroxide, Class C; liquid, Division 5.2; UN 3103.
Safety and Handling Keep containers tightly closed. Store and handle Trigonox C in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat or ignition sources, and avoid direct sunlight.Do not weigh or repackage in storage areas.
