Trigonox® 63 is a mixture of peroxides containing MEKP and acetylacetone peroxide, used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and high temperatures in the presence of a cobalt accelerator. It cures faster than Trigonox® 61 and Butanox® M-50, but slower than Trigonox® 44B.
Applications
Trigonox® 63 is a mixture of organic peroxides containing methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and acetylacetone peroxide, used to cure unsaturated polyester resins at room temperature and elevated temperatures in the presence of a cobalt accelerator. The Trigonox® 63/cobalt accelerator curing system provides faster cure rates than Butanox® M-50; however, it does not achieve the high cure rates attainable with Trigonox® 44B. The gel time of Trigonox® 63 is generally similar to that of Butanox® M-50. The Trigonox® 63/cobalt accelerator curing system is particularly suitable for curing laminating resins, as well as for applications requiring shorter demolding times than those achieved with Butanox® M-50. Furthermore, unlike curing systems using benzoyl peroxide and amine accelerators, it allows for the production of light-resistant parts.
